By Deut C29 V29 the Israelis were under the Law, Gospel of the Kingdom because that is what GOD had revealed to them. We gentiles are under Grace, the Gospel of Grace since GOD has revealed this through Paul, the apostle to the gentiles. GOD gives man a progressive revelation of HIS will/salvation. Abraham was not under the law given to Moses & knew nothing about it due to it being revealed ~ 500 years later. The old testament prophets knew nothing about the age of grace /church age, neither did the Israelis of JESUS’ day. Not until the ascended JESUS revealed the age of grace to Paul was the age of grace known (Eph C3 V2). We are not held responsible for something GOD has not revealed to us in HIS word. Now we will look at GOD’S revealed word about the “queen of heaven” and if JESUS’ earthly mother, Mary is the queen of heaven.
- Deut C29 V29, “The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.”
- Jer C7 V18, “The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.”
- Jer C44 V17 – 22, “But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil. But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine. And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men? Then Jeremiah said unto all the people, to the men, and to the women, and to all the people which had given him that answer, saying, The incense that ye burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, ye, and your fathers, your kings, and your princes, and the people of the land, did not the LORD remember them, and came it not into his mind? So that the LORD could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which ye have committed; therefore is your land a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without an inhabitant, as at this day.”
- Jer C44 V25, “Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows.” Scriptures # 2 through 4 shows that GOD abhors the “queen of heaven”. In the gospels plus epistles there is NO mention of the “queen of heaven” because the authors being led by the HOLY SPIRIT and knowing the Old Testament knew that the “queen of heaven” was something the Israelis had to learn the hard way that it was wrong.
- Matt C24 V24 – 30, “Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother: Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh. And last of all the woman died also. Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her. Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.”
Scripture 5 shows that JESUS had to correct the Israelis due to ignorance that after we get our glorified bodies either at the rapture or resurrection for judgement, that there would be NO male or female. If NO male or female how can there be a queen of heaven?
- Immaculate conception – Mary conceived without sin/born without sin nature (free of original sin)
- Lived a sinless life
- 1854 Pope Pius IX decreed immaculate conception of Mary – doctrine of Catholic church
- Luke C1 V46 & 47, “And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.” – Mary needed a Savior
- If sinless goes against,
- Eccles C7 V20, “For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.”
- Rom C3 V9, “What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;”
- Rom C3 10, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:”
- Rom C3 20, “Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”
- Rom C3 23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
- Rom C5 V12, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:”
- Gal C3 V22, “But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.”
- 1 John C1 V8, “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”
- IF Mary was immaculately conceived, then Mary could have been sacrificed for our sins and JESUS, GOD eternal past would not have to take on flesh and blood, suffer & die on the cross shedding HIS blood for payment of our sins!
- Mary a perpetual virgin – Mary never had sex, died a virgin – doctrine of Catholic church
- Matt C1 V24 – 25, “Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.” Joseph did not have relations with Mary till after Jesus’ birth
- Several places (5 places) JESUS had brother & sisters (half-brothers & half-sisters) in new testament, greek had/has different words for brothers & sisters versus cousins, extended family (Matt C13 V 54-58, Mark C6 V1-3)
- Mary’s assumption into heaven, body, soul & spirit
- 1950 Pope Pius XII decreed assumption into heaven of Mary – doctrine of Catholic church
- Tomb of Mary is in Ephesus, Turkey were John the apostle “whom Jesus loved.” was the bishop
- John, the disciple who JESUS loved was commanded by JESUS on the cross to take care of Mary.
- John C13 V23, “Now there was leaning on Jesus’ bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.”
- John C19 V26 & 27, “When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saithe unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.”
John wrote the Gospel of John, 1 John, 2 John, 3 John & Revelation with NO mention of Mary’s assumption into heaven, that is quite the omission! John did go to Ephesus to preach.
- Queen of Heaven
- Following the assumption, Mary is given special place/position thus has special mercy for GOD’S children plus intercedes for GOD’S children
- Council of Ephesus in 5th century declared Mary as queen of heaven
- 1954 Pope Pius XI decreed Mary is the queen of heaven – doctrine of Catholic church
- Must look at Jerimiah C7 & C44, GOD against queen of heaven or any other god
- Mary co-redemptress with JESUS
- Belief that Mary is a co-redeemer with JESUS – NOT a Catholic doctrine
- Goes against
- Isa C49 V25 – 26, “But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children. And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.”
- John C6 V35, “And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.”
- John C6 V48, “I am that bread of life.”
- John C6 V51, “I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”
- John C8 V12, “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
- John C8 V24, “I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.”
- John C11 V25, “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:”
- John C14 V6, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
- 1 Cor C15 V1 – 4, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
NO mention of Mary in any of these verses plus there are allot more verses not mentioned here.
- Mary is an Intercessor/mediator for GOD’S children
- Goes against 1 Tim C2 V5 “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;”
- Goes against 1 John C2 V1 – 2 “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”
- As per 1 Tim C2 V5 and 1 John C2 V1 – 2 praying to dead people who are supposed saints is pointless too.
